Kristin Landahl

Executive Director
Kristin Landahl attended Illinois State University in Normal, IL for her undergraduate degree in Sociology which included an emphasis on gerontology. She went back to school years later to earn her Masters in Business Administration through the University of Phoenix. Kristin also achieved several certifications including a green belt in process improvement in DMAIC/Lean/Six Sigma, Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Director of Assisted Living. Kristin has been running businesses for the majority of her career in various industries. She is so thrilled that coincidence brought her back to her lifetime love of seniors in early 2009 and she hasn’t left the industry since. She has been working for Life Care Services as an Executive Director for seven years. When not at work, Kristin loves exploring Florida with her husband of 30 years, visiting her oldest daughter who works at Walt Disney World in Orlando and watching her youngest daughter, who is a professional dancer, perform.

Mark Monaghan, BSW

Director of Sales & Marketing
Mark was born and raised in Liverpool, England and has a passion for senior living and helping seniors. Mark joined The Sterling as the Director of Sales and Marketing in 2016. He has a background in Social Work and earned his Social Work Degree from one of the top Universities in the United Kingdom. Mark has over twenty years of Social Work experience and over ten years’ experience in healthcare sales and marketing. Mark moved to the United States from The UK in 2013 and started his career in senior living as a Social Services Director in a life plan community here in Aventura. He enjoys helping residents and their families during the move in process and his wealth of information and knowledge in senior living is invaluable. Families enjoy the level of expertise he brings to his role. Mark also represents The Sterling to the wider community, making sure we are communicating the benefits of senior living in a positive way. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling to different parts of the US. Mark is also a very proud American, he became a US Citizen in 2018.

Stacy Hernandez, RN BSN

Director of Health Services
When other children spoke of becoming astronauts and ballerinas, she knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a nurse. Her passion for providing care to others in their time of need was the driving force in her career for over 21 years. She worked in several areas of nursing, including inpatient care, outpatient services, and over 10 years in Nursing Leadership. Her love of nursing came second only to the love for her two beautiful daughters, Alessandra, 15, and Angelina, 14. She had a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University. She was born in Key West, Florida, and was raised in Miami. She was of Cuban descent and spoke Spanish fluently. As the new Director of Health Service for The Sterling Aventura, she was committed to promoting a culture of excellence in care and customer service, where the residents and their families were the top priority.

Ana Y. Perez-RN/RRT

Assistant Director of Health Services
Ana began her passion and dedication in caring for others as a teenager helping in her father's care who had COPD and was a member of the H.O.S.A (Health Occupation Students of America) group in her local high school. This passion was the catalyst which drove her to pursue her 1st career of over 30yrs as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in which she obtained a Bachelor's degree. Ana later realized that her advocacy for those entrusted to her care needed a larger platform, and she then attended Nursing school and became a Registered Nurse of over 10yrs. now. Ana is fluent in both English & Spanish. In her spare time, Ana enjoys baking, going to the beach and salsa dancing.

Anthony Ferro

Business Office Manager
Anthony Ferro was born and raised in Miami, Florida and has been in the field of Social Work and Human Services for over 28 years. He began his career in 1996 as the Director of an adult behavioral health program where he developed knowledge and experience in business administration. With an acquired entrepreneur mindset, he later opened his own geriatric care center in 1998.
In 2004 he campaigned and actively lobbied against a senate bill which threatened to dissolve frail elder programs. He created a lobbying committee to raise community awareness and landed a meeting with the Governor’s office. As a result, this senate bill was vetoed. In 2007 he created a marketing and promotions company partnering with local businesses developing strategic advertising and sales campaigns. He’s also joined One Sotheby’s International Realty as a Licensed Global Real Estate Advisor. His passion for business, real estate, and older adults led him to join the Sales and Marketing team at The Sterling Aventura in 2020. Later, Anthony transitioned to senior leadership as the Business Office Manager working closely with the employees, families and the administrative team. Anthony has actively volunteered with several charitable agencies such as Care Resources, Task Force's, Save Dade and Aqua Foundation and has also hosted fundraisers benefiting South Beach AIDS Project, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Toys for Tots.

Ireneo "Butch" Tenay

Director of Plant Operations
They call him 'Butch,' but his real name is Ireneo Tenay. Hailing from the Philippines, he was raised in the Mountain Province. He pursued his education at the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Following his graduation, he began his professional journey at the Department of National Defense, where he worked for two years. He takes immense pride in his tenure at The Sterling Aventura, having been present since its inception. Alongside his fellow new employees, he witnessed the eight-story Sterling Aventura emerge from the ground up. As of 2024, Ireneo remains a steadfast presence, surpassing past owners, Executive Directors, and colleagues. Having started as a young man, he now approaches semi-retirement. Butch attributes his longevity and success to the grace of God, expressing gratitude for the blessings showered upon him. In his role as Director of Plant Operations, Butch remains dedicated to meticulous attention to detail and the well-being of the residents. Despite the challenges he faces, Butch ensures that his energy, skills, and talents are always utilized to their fullest extent. His unwavering desire to aid the residents endures, reciprocating the love they show him. Supported by his understanding wife, who herself is a registered nurse, Ireneo readily responds to calls for assistance, reflecting his upbringing by a compassionate great-grandfather.

Daniel Campbell

Director of Dining Services
Born and raised in Birmingham, UK, Chef Daniel Campbell has established himself as a culinary virtuoso with a rich tapestry of experiences spanning some of the world's most prestigious kitchens. His journey began in the vibrant culinary scene of Birmingham, where his passion for cooking was ignited. Daniel honed his skills at the esteemed Ritz in London, where he learned the intricacies of fine dining and haute cuisine. His quest for culinary excellence then took him to France, where he immersed himself in the rich traditions of French gastronomy, working alongside renowned chefs and perfecting his craft. With over 15 years of management experience, Chef Campbell has mastered the art of leading kitchen teams and delivering exceptional dining experiences. His expertise spans multiple cuisines, from classic French and British to modern fusion, showcasing his versatility and creativity. Today, Chef Daniel Campbell is celebrated for his innovative approach to cooking, combining traditional techniques with contemporary flair. His culinary creations continue to delight and inspire food enthusiasts around the world.

Daniel Dhanaram

Life Enrichment Director
Daniel Dhanaram is a native of Trinidad and Tobago. At an early age Daniel expressed his passion for travel and learning about new cultures. In 1995 he joined the customer service management team at Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. His time at Royal Caribbean provided him with invaluable experiences and a deep appreciation for the importance of diversity and person-centered customer service. After traveling through Europe with Royal Caribbean for many years Daniel settled in Milan, Italy where he supervised a creative events team at Pizarro Designs Milan. In 1999 Daniel relocated to Miami, Florida where he returned to Royal Caribbean as an event planner. He later joined The Sterling Aventura where he’s brought his experience in customer care and passion for older adults to role as Life Enrichment Director for over 16 years. Daniel enjoys putting a smile on our residents’ faces and making a positive impact in the community.

Karen Lynford

Move-In Coordinator
Karen Lynford was born in Kingston, Jamaica. She began her career in customer service in 1990 in the field of health care services. In 2007 she was employed by the College of Insurance, where she also obtained a Diploma in Insurance Studies in 2014. In 2017 Karen moved to the United States. She quickly joined The Sterling Aventura’s Concierge and Customer Service team. After many years of dedication, training, and resident care experience she was promoted to Memory Care Director. She recently transitioned to the Marketing and Sales Team where she thrives in helping future residents and their families with a positive move-in experience. Karen is a mother of two beautiful children and a proud grandmother of a handsome boy. In her spare time, she enjoys going to Church and family gatherings.
